New government-backed loan programs are of little value to Nova Scotia hog producers, says the chairman of Pork Nova Scotia.
"The biggest reason is we are in a high-cost feed area and loans aren’t going to help because the cost of production is too high," said Gerald Vermeulen. "We just can’t operate in this scenario."
