| Starting on June 1 mozzarella will cost less for Canadian pizza shop owners, but the difference will not be enough to have an impact on the price of a pizza, say restaurant owners.

| The U.S. has halted imports of the well-loved Fren ch cheese known as Mimolette.
Microscopic bugs called cheese mites are responsible for giving Mimolette its distinctive rind and flavor, and the FDA is calling them "adulteration".

| 737 samples of imported and domestic dairy were collected and tested for progesterone, an active hormone that is permitted for use in dairy cattle, in 11 Canadian cities in 2010-2011.
The samples included 259 butter, 247 cheese, and 231 cream products.
