South Korean manufacturing giant Daewoo is on the verge of resurrecting the mothballed TrentonWorks plant in Nova Scotia.
Anna Sawinska, business development manager for Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. Ltd., confirms in an interview with The Canadian Press that the company plans to build components for wind turbines at the seven-hectare factory in Trenton.

| Canadian wholesale sales climbed for a fourth consecutive month in December, led by increased shipments of machinery and electronic equipment.

| Nova Scotians will see the minimum wage increase to $9.20 on April 1. This is a 6.9 per cent increase from the current rate of $8.60.
The minimum wage for inexperienced workers, with less than three months' experience in the work for which they were hired, will rise to $8.70 an hour from $8.10 an hour.

NB Power's president is leaving the utility with more than two years left in his contract.
David Hay announced to NB Power's employees on Tuesday that he was retiring from the utility after almost six years at the helm of the Crown corporation.

The aging farm community and a slowdown of young people entering primary agriculture production have prompted the Agriculture Producers Association of Saskatchewan to figure out why.

Nova Scotia’s workplace watchdogs will now fine employees, not just employers, for their on-the-job health and safety violations.
The fines range from $100 for a worker’s first violation to a maximum of $500 for a more serious or repeated infraction.
